A woman in her 20s is suspected of fraud after a three-week hotel stay in Åre, reports Östersunds-Posten.

The woman checked into a suite in early January. When asked to pay for food, drinks and accommodation, she allegedly made various excuses. She was eventually turned away by the hotel, but only paid part of the bill of almost 100,000 kronor.

– She seems to have lived quite luxuriously. What she has covered up is 13,000 kronor and what is currently missing is 94,000 kronor. So it's a lot of money, says David Redin, group leader of the fraud group in Jämtland, to ÖP.

The police are investigating the incident as fraud.

"We will now try to get hold of the woman to question her and then continue investigating the case. We of course hope that the hotel will get its money back," he says.
