SAS will open 180 direct routes from Scandinavia to Europe this spring and summer, provided that restrictions have been eased, the airline says in a press release.

SAS notes that there are still strict travel restrictions but is hopeful for a different future with increasing vaccination rates and reduced spread of infection.

”"In line with these, SAS will also increase capacity on all domestic routes, as well as within the Nordic region and to major cities in Northern Europe, to meet increasing demand for both leisure and business travel," it says.

SAS shares are down more than 56 percent over the past 12 months and have lost 9.3 percent since the new year. On Tuesday, they are down 0.2 percent.
