Museums and art galleries can open from next Thursday with similar rules that apply to shops and gyms. Today, some museums are closed and others are open, but now the rules will be the same for everyone.

The government decided on Thursday on changes to the so-called Restrictions Ordinance. They will come into force on March 11.

This means, among other things, that museums and art galleries are subject to roughly the same crowding rules that apply to shops and gyms.

Many museums have closed today, not because they are prohibited from being open, but because the government has urged them to close. This applies primarily to state and municipal museums, while several private museums have chosen to remain open with operations adapted to infection control.

With the new rules, museums must, among other things, ensure that there is no crowding inside the premises or at the entrances and exits and limit the number of visitors.

Zoos and amusement parks will be subject to similar rules as shops and gyms from March 11. The government has also proposed that so-called permanent amusement parks, such as Liseberg and Gröna Lund, be covered by these rules. Today, they are considered a public event in the legal sense and are only allowed to admit eight people.

But the government has not yet made a decision on this, but is waiting to see how the infection situation develops.
