Support money for companies in nature and ecotourism

Remove

Now entrepreneurs in nature and ecotourism can receive support to develop and restructure their operations during and after the pandemic. The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Development is offering development checks of between SEK 50,000 and 150,000, which can, for example, be used to market themselves to new target groups or to certify the operations for sustainability.

The investment comprises approximately SEK 20 million and is part of the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Development's mission to strengthen the ability to change and adapt in tourism companies and to promote ecotourism.

-It feels important to be able to offer this support, which will be of great benefit to small businesses in nature and ecotourism to adapt and develop. Not least based on what the pandemic brings, but also based on the need for climate change and digitalization, which also places demands on development. The support will contribute to strengthening Swedish nature tourism in the long term, says Helena Nyberg Brehnfors, head of unit at the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.

The development check is intended to help strengthen the company's ability to achieve sustainable development and transformation. This may involve re-directing or adapting its operations to the consequences of the pandemic, climate change or digital structural transformation.

The check can also be used for target group and market analyses, market communication, digital development, sustainability initiatives and to develop sustainable products and services.

Who can apply?

The support can be applied for by small businesses in nature and ecotourism throughout the country that offer activities and other tourism services with the nature experience in cent-rum. Individual companies can also apply. The application is open until June 30, or as long as the funds last.
