A bomb threat has been received on a plane that landed at Landvetter Airport. The plane was en route from Warsaw to Gothenburg.

– The airline in Poland received the bomb threat and notified the crew, who chose to continue to Landvetter, says Anders Lännholm, rescue leader at the Maritime and Air Rescue Center.

When the plane flew into Swedish airspace, it was closely monitored.

– The aircraft was monitored by military radar stations and we put a helicopter on standby in Kristianstad and when the plane got further north, a helicopter in Gothenburg took over, says Anders Lännholm.

The plane landed just before 10 p.m. and is now standing on the southern end of the runway. Police, ambulance and emergency services have been called to the airport. 30 passengers and crew are now to be evacuated.

According to the police, the threat was made in an “unclear manner.” The National Bomb Squad has been involved in the case.

“"The police are currently working at full strength together with other actors to ensure the safe evacuation of passengers and securing the site," the police wrote on their website shortly after 11 p.m.

At 2 a.m., the bomb squad finished their search. They found no dangerous objects.
