
Heathrow Airport reports another series of devastating losses in the pandemic as the first quarter of 2021 is summed up. The loss of £329 million raises the total pandemic blow for the major British airport to almost £2.4 billion (equivalent to SEK 28 billion).
The number of passengers using Heathrow Airport in the first quarter plunged by 91 percent compared to the same quarter last year to 1.7 million.
Heathrow has under The pandemic has lost its position as Europe's largest airport to Paris and expects 13-36 million passengers to use the airport for the full year. This compares to 81 million in 2019, the year before the pandemic broke out.
Heathrow is owned by a group of investors, including Spain's Ferrovial, an investment fund from Qatar and another from China.
Shares in Ferrovial, which also owns other infrastructure and transportation facilities, rose 1.8 percent on the Madrid Stock Exchange after the report.
