Royal Caribbean had high hopes for a new cruise route between Israel and Europe, but the escalating conflict is now putting a stop to the venture.

”"Due to the unrest in Israel and the region, Odyssey has not been able to undergo the necessary preparations," announced the cruise company, which has its roots in Norway but is based and listed in the United States.

Their luxurious new giant ship, Odyssey of the Seas, was to have sailed back and forth between Israel, Cyprus and Greece starting in June. The venture was intended to coincide with a new start for leisure travel after the pandemic.

Instead, Odyssey of the Seas is now being put into operation in North America. Royal Caribbean still hopes to be able to focus on Israel, but when is unclear.
