The airline group IAG may spin off its British subsidiary British Airways in the wake of Covid-19. Former British Airways and IAG CEO Willie Walsh told the Sunday Telegraph, CItyAm reports.
Walsh, who was forced to leave his IAG post in 2020, said a spin-off could help make British Airways more efficient and satisfy EU ownership rules.
IAG was created in 2011 when British Airways merged with Spain's Iberia. The IAG group now also includes the low-cost brand Vueling and the Irish Aer Lingus.
