Ahead of the summer season in the mountains, restrictions will remain in place at STF's mountain cabins. The risk of corona infection is not over, and the cabin manager is worried that visitors have lost respect for the restrictions.

Last year was the first summer with corona restrictions for accommodation in mountain cabins. By midsummer this year, the Swedish Tourist Association will open the mountain cabins again and the restrictions will remain this season.

– It will be a summer with a lot of limitations and restrictions just like it was last summer, says Jonas Påve, manager of STF mountain cabins.

Has introduced maximum numbers in stores

STF has conducted an evaluation with the cottage owners on how it worked last year and most recently during the winter season. Some adjustments have been made, but there will be no major changes this summer.

– Some mountain cabins have shops and a recommendation that has been made is that we have a maximum number in the shops, says Johan Påve.

Hope the restrictions are respected

The number of places in the mountain cabins is also limited, so pre-booking is required.

– What I am most worried about is that the pandemic has been going on for so long now. There are restrictions here, just like in the rest of society. The big risk is that visitors may have lost respect for how to deal with the restrictions and believe that the danger is over, says Johan Påve.

• The Public Health Agency's general advice and regulations.
• STF's accommodations, local departments and staff receive information about COVID-19 with instructions and guidelines on how to reduce the risk of spreading the infection.
• Hygiene and cleanliness are a high priority. Routines for cleaning, sanitizing and hygiene have been reinforced with extra focus on hand hygiene.
• Regular disinfection of frequently used surfaces such as door handles, reception counters and public toilets/showers.
• Hand sanitizer is often available for guests in public areas and at all local department activities.
• Acts in accordance with established procedures that apply in the event of detection of COVID-19 at accommodations, both among staff, guests and activity participants.
• If you experience symptoms that may indicate that you have been infected with coronavirus (for example, fever, muscle and joint pain, headache and dry cough), you should notify staff, if possible without leaving the room.
