The winter tourism company Skistar is seeing a 30 percent increase in bookings for the upcoming winter season compared to the same time last year.
”"On the other hand, we see a positive trend ahead of winter 2021/22, where our foreign guests are returning strongly with a large order intake to all destinations," writes Stefan Sjöstrand, CEO of Skistar, in the report.
On Thursday it was time for Skis to present its figures for the third quarter of the company's broken financial year. Net sales amounted to SEK 1,023 million, which was an increase from SEK 580 million during the same period last year.
The profit after tax was SEK 39 million, which was an increase from minus SEK 10 million in the same quarter of 2020. The figure has been negatively affected by an impairment of SEK 108 million related to the sale of St. Johanner Bergbahnen.
”"Despite the current circumstances with the ongoing corona pandemic in Scandinavia, with the winter season behind us, we can present a positive third quarter for Skistar. I am extremely proud of what we as a company have delivered during this season: safety and security for our guests," writes Stefan Sjöstrand in the report.
During the season, the number of ski days amounted to 4.4 million, which was a decrease of 0.7 million compared to last year. According to Skistar, the decrease is due to the absence of foreign guests in Norway.
”"The challenges in Norway remain, with closed borders and thus a lack of foreign guests and reduced sales as a result, which negatively affects the result," writes Stefan Sjöstrand.
