Air France-KLM is starting to see a glimmer of hope after the lifting of travel restrictions boosted flight bookings. The Franco-Dutch company reports a reduced loss for the second quarter and positive cash flow.

The operating loss before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to EUR 248 million, equivalent to approximately SEK 2.5 billion, during the period. This compares with the loss of EUR 780 million in the corresponding quarter last year.

Airfrance-KLM now expects a positive EBITDA result for the third quarter and the company expects production capacity to be 60–70 percent of 2019 levels. Previously, the assessment was 55–65 percent of 2019 levels.
