The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges all Swedes who are in Afghanistan to leave the country.

Since February 2006, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised against travel to the country due to the security situation.

“"As a result of further deterioration in the security situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges all Swedes in Afghanistan to leave the country from 5 August 2021. The advice applies until further notice," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes.
