Australian Qantas and Cathay Pacific have already done so, now both Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines are following suit and requiring employees to be fully vaccinated.

Singapore Airlines has a deadline of September 1st, but according to the airline, 99 percent of its employees are already fully vaccinated, while Malaysia Airlines states that it is 95 percent.

In Sweden, employees cannot be required to get vaccinated, but some countries require flight crew on board to be vaccinated, something that SAS has solved by only allowing personnel they know have taken the vaccine to fly those routes.

– What we do is move the personnel who are not vaccinated to fly routes where vaccination is not required, says John Eckhoff, press manager at SAS.

– We encourage all our employees to follow vaccination programs and take the vaccine, but we cannot require it from our employees, he continues.

Among American airlines, United Airlines became the first in August to require vaccinations for all American personnel, and Hawaiian Airlines has since followed suit.
