Swedavia has decided to open another terminal at Arlanda Airport outside Stockholm. This is due to increased air travel and several airline initiatives during the autumn.
The terminal that is now being used is Terminal 2, which will be served by Air France/KLM, Czech Airlines, Transavia, Vueling and Easyjet.
”"We are pleased to note that air traffic and the number of passengers have increased faster than we expected and hoped for, and that we need to put another terminal into use earlier than planned. The fact that we are now increasing capacity at the airport is a signal that our industry is on the way back," says Peder Grunditz, Airport Director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, in a press release.
Swedavia decided in March 2020 to concentrate all aircraft operations at Terminal 5 in the wake of the spread of the pandemic.
”"Of course, there is still uncertainty about market developments, but ahead of the airlines' winter programs and as more countries ease travel restrictions, we see that we will need more capacity at the airport. We also have several major airline investments at Arlanda during the autumn," says Peder Grunditz.
