In 2020, Hotel Tylösand would get a completely new front through an extension that will provide approximately 40 new hotel rooms, a new conference room and a new exhibition area next to the existing main entrance. 

But then the corona pandemic came and the project was postponed. Now, however, this major investment is being resumed, which will give one of Sweden's most popular hotels even better opportunities to meet the growing demand for rooms and conference facilities. 

– It is with great pleasure that we can now move forward with this future investment. The extension at the front of the hotel is completely in line with our ambition to never sit back but constantly continue to develop in order to always be able to offer our guests an even better stay here with us, says Hotel Tylösand's CEO Elisabeth Haglund.

Three architectural firms participated in the competition to design the extension, and of them, Fredblad Halmstad was named the winner with a proposal that links the five-story new building with the existing entrance in a way that creates a natural connection between the buildings. 

– The extension will tie together the hotel's various building blocks from the main entrance up the slope towards the parking lot in a way that is both beautiful and efficient. And it will be done in a way that will not disrupt operations in the meantime, emphasizes Elisabeth Haglund.

Construction for the new extension is scheduled to start in October 2021 with an opening in spring 2023. The main suppliers are MTA Bygg & Anläggning, Oscar Hanson VVS, Falkenbergs El and Bravida.
