Ferry company Viking Line wants to raise just over SEK 500 million in a rights issue. This is stated in a notice to an extraordinary general meeting.

The notice states that Viking Line's board of directors wants authorization to decide on a rights issue of a maximum of 6,480,000 shares. The subscription price is 8 euros per share, which means that the company wants to raise 51.8 million euros or 515.8 million kronor.

”"Viking Line's board of directors has decided to prepare a rights issue with preferential rights for shareholders with the aim of strengthening the company's balance sheet, financing and liquidity position, which have been affected by the exceptional circumstances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of the rights issue is to further support the execution of Viking Line's strategy and the opportunity for continued profitable growth in a post-Covid-19 pandemic environment," Viking Line writes.

For every five existing shares held, one has the right to subscribe for three new shares in the offering.

A group of major shareholders who together control just over 50 percent of the shares have committed to vote in favor of the proposal.
