Green winter or snowshoe. By looking at research and previous years' weather, SVT's meteorologist Nitzan Cohen has made an overview of what winter could be like.

– At least it doesn't look like it will be hysterically mild, he says.

The winter of 2019-2020 was unusually mild, with the southern third of the country remaining bare ground for much of the winter.

But there are many indications that this will not be the case this year. SVT's meteorologist Nitzan Cohen has, by analyzing research, the weather in previous years and a number of other factors, developed a scenario for what the weather could be like.

It's impossible to say exactly what the weather will be like right now. But previous comparable years have led to a so-called Greenland Blockade – which could lead to an unusually long winter.
