Huge loss this year, but in the summer of 2022, travel giant TUI hopes to be back to pre-pandemic booking levels, according to the German group's financial statements for the financial year that ended in September 2021.

The world's largest travel company made a loss of over two billion euros, just over 20 billion kronor, last year, but in the final quarter, July-September, the group almost reached a breakeven point.

During the first quarter of the new fiscal year, bookings were at 69 percent of normal, that is, before the pandemic hit. And by the summer of 2022, management predicts that bookings will be back to completely normal levels.
