Today, new restrictions are being introduced in France in an attempt to stop the record-breaking spread of omicron there.

Starting today, those French people who can will therefore work from home at least three days a week, face masks will be mandatory in all public places for everyone over the age of six, and in restaurants and cafes, service will once again take place at the tables.

It will also be illegal to eat or drink food in cinemas, theatres and public transport. Certain restrictions on large gatherings have also been introduced. Discos have already been closed.
