The UK is easing entry rules for travellers who have been vaccinated against Covid-19. Those who are fully vaccinated currently need to take a rapid Covid-19 test within two days of entering the UK, while the rules for unvaccinated travellers are stricter with stricter requirements for testing and quarantine upon arrival.

But now the requirement to test is being removed for fully vaccinated people.

”Border testing of vaccinated travellers has played its role,” says Transport Secretary Grant Shapps.

”Today we set Britain free,” he continues.

The new rule, which is applauded by the British travel industry, will come into effect from February 11.

So far, 154,000 people have been confirmed to have died from COVID-19 in the UK, making the country the second hardest hit in Europe after Russia.
