Aircraft manufacturer Boeing is hiring Amazon, Microsoft and Google to help with a "digital makeover" aimed at giving aircraft designers and software developers more tools, writes Bloomberg News.

According to Bloomberg, the aircraft manufacturer is doing this to upgrade its technology to address quality and production issues, which are driving up the cost of developing new aircraft.

No financial details are available, but The Information reported last year that Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft's Azure competed for a contract worth more than $1 billion over several years.
