US resumes visas in Cuba

Remove

After a nearly five-year hiatus, the United States has resumed issuing visas at its embassy in Cuba. Washington closed its consular operations in Havana in 2017 after staff and their families suffered mysterious sonic injuries that later came to be known as ”Havana Syndrome.”.

The closure was a severe blow to many Cubans who hoped to emigrate to the United States. But on Tuesday, the embassy reopened its doors to those who wanted to apply for visas.
