UN approves Turkey's name change

Remove

The UN has accepted Turkey's application to be called Türkiye instead of Turkey in international contexts, several media outlets report.

The move is seen as an attempt by the country to avoid being associated with the bird turkey.

As part of the name change, all export goods will say "Made in Türkiye" and the country has also launched a tourism campaign with the slogan "Hello Türkiye".
