The express train is expanding its service to Austria this winter, starting the 2022/2023 season at Christmas and continuing until mid-March. The route in Austria is also being rerouted, which means improvements for those who want to travel to Salzburger Land, which was most popular last season.
– The great interest in traveling with Snälltåget's night train to Austria during the 2022 season means that we now dare to expand our traffic, says Marco Andersson, Sales Manager at Snälltåget.
The most popular destination on the night train last season was Zell am See, where the train stops within walking distance of the ski slopes. The train also stops in well-known Kitzbühel and with shorter transfers you can reach Bad Gastein, Saalbach – Hinterglemm, Wagrain, Obertauern, Schladming, Zillertal, Sankt Anton, Ichgl and Sölden.
The train departs once a week, departing on Fridays from Malmö and Saturdays from Austria. During the Christmas and New Year holidays, an adjustment is made so that the train departs on the Thursday before Christmas and New Year's Eve.
