London Heathrow Airport will cap its daily passenger capacity at 100,000 passengers to help ease congestion and congestion problems. The cap will come into effect immediately and will remain in place until 11 September.
”"We are aware that this means some travelers will have their trips moved to another date or airport and we apologize for this," writes the airport's CEO John Holland-Kaye in a comment according to CNBC.
According to Heathrow's forecast, the airport currently receives an average of 104,000 passengers daily and has therefore asked the airlines concerned to reduce ticket sales so that the restriction has as little effect as possible.
