Maria Fjellström started at the age of 16 as a play leader, dish washer and cloakroom attendant at the hotel's nightclub. After twelve years in Mälardalen as, among other things, hotel manager, she will have her first day as CEO and hotel manager of Quality Hotel Luleå on August 1st.

There are few service professions that Maria Fjellström has not had. From nightclub to bakery, to IKEA, to train host and aerobics instructor. Most recently, she works as a store manager for Blomsterlandet in Luleå. In other words, she is a true service hero who takes over Quality Hotel Luleå on Storgatan.

– Quality Hotel is an event hotel where anything can really happen. When we are looking for staff, we are looking for breadth and preferably people who add that little extra. With Maria, we got the plus menu when it comes to “that little extra”. She comes in with a fantastic background that is overflowing with experience and creativity. Now that Quality Hotel Luleå is on an exciting development journey, Maria will be an extremely important piece of the puzzle to navigate correctly, says Quality Hotel's Operations Director Susanna Ståhl.

Maria Fjellström, who starts her new job on August 1, not only comes with professional skills but also awards from previous workplaces such as "Spreader of Joy of the Year" and leader of "The Happiest Staff Group of the Year". 

– I am used to having many irons in the fire and I enjoy it best when I get to be the spider in the web, pulling my strings and using my contacts to achieve a good result, whatever it may be. Now the assignment is to take Quality Hotel Luleå on an exciting development journey. Satisfied guests will have even more arguments for checking in and the hotel staff will have the widest smile in the industry, says incoming hotel director Maria Fjellström.
