Finnish airline Finnair reports a comparable operating profit of -84.2 million euros for the second quarter of 2022.

nfront's compilation, based on three analyst forecasts, indicated a comparable operating profit of EUR -58.6 million.

Turnover amounted to 550 million euros. At this point, 533 million euros were expected.

The number of passengers in the quarter was 2.4 million and the cabin factor was 67.3 percent.

Finnair says that demand in Europe and the US has almost normalized. In the third quarter, the company expects to have an average capacity of approximately 70 percent, measured as ASK, compared to the corresponding period in 2019. In the fourth quarter, volumes are expected to be similar or slightly higher compared to the third.

At the same time, Finnair points out that uncertainty remains and points to historically high fuel prices, the closure of Russian airspace and inflation.
