At 3:45 a.m., Lufthansa staff went on strike.

After that, nothing has worked, according to German Picture.

More than 1,000 flights have been canceled and around 134,000 travelers are affected.

"There are already very long queues, people are desperately trying to rebook their flights. It is getting more crowded and chaotic," says Jessica Firlej, who is at Frankfurt Airport.

11 flights to and from Arlanda have been canceled on Wednesday.

The strike is expected to last until 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning. After that, new negotiations are expected between Lufthansa and the union.
