In July, Swedavia's airports had just over 2.8 million travelers. That's twice as many compared to the same period last year – but that corresponds to a loss of one in four travelers compared to July 2019.

During July, Swedavia's airports had 2,293,217 international travelers. This is an increase of 123 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the state-owned airport company's statistics. Travel within Europe accounted for by far the largest portion of international traffic.

However, Swedavia has significantly fewer international travelers now compared to before the pandemic. In July, they had 22 percent fewer such travelers compared to the same month in 2019.

Domestic flights at some of the country's airports have decreased significantly. The airports in Kiruna, Östersund and Ronneby had around 65 percent fewer domestic travelers in July 2022 compared to the same period in 2019. In Luleå, the drop was significantly smaller. There, the number of domestic travelers in July had dropped by 15 percent compared to the same month in 2019.
