Belgian-British teenager Mack Rutherford became the youngest person to fly solo around the world when he landed his plane in Bulgaria on Wednesday.

Rutherford turned 17 during the five-month journey.

His sister Zara Rutherford, who completed her own round-the-world trip when she was 19, held the previous age record for a light aircraft.

The record-breaking journey took Mack Rutherford through 52 countries and five continents.
