Chinese authorities have further restricted domestic travel in an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19 ahead of the party congress in mid-October.
This is reported by Bloomberg News.
The National Health Commission has urged people to minimize travel during the Mid-Autumn Festival next week and the National Day holiday in October, which are typical periods for tourism, and also asked local authorities to regularly test the population, regardless of Covid outbreaks.
Lockdowns have increased again recently, including in Chengdu, China's sixth largest city. Beijing has also tightened controls on who enters or leaves the city.
