Flesland Airport in Bergen has been closed after an alarm was raised about what are suspected to be drones being seen in the area, writes the news agency NTB.

It was on Wednesday morning that the police went out to Flesland and Haakonsvern in Bergen after reports of possible drones. The first report came in to the police at 04.15 and according to the police, some lights were seen. At six o'clock Bergen Airport Flesland was closed.

At 6:35 a.m., Flesland's operations manager, Øystein Skaar, confirms that Flesland is closed.

”"There must be ongoing assessments about when we can reopen," he tells NTB.

”"We have a patrol on Flesland, one on Bjorøy and one on Haakonsvern to check," says task force leader Frode Kolltveit in the Western Police District to Bergens Tidende just before 6 a.m.

He further says that patrols are working to capture the flashes of light to clarify whether it is actually a drone.
