Easyjet shares surged about 8 percent on Monday after the Times of London reported that British Airways owner IAG is considering a bid for the British low-cost airline.
IAG has previously dismissed such information, which was made public in September 2021. Now, however, IAG is said to be about to open the door to a bid after loss-making Easyjet's shares fell to an attractive level, according to the Times of London.
The British Airways owner is also interested in buying the Portuguese airline TAP, which suffered severe financial problems during the pandemic and had to be rescued by the state, according to the newspaper.
