On February 9, SAS will launch its new route between Kastrup in Copenhagen and John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. The new route will give SAS customers the opportunity to easily travel to and from both the west and east sides of New York as SAS will also continue to offer departures from Scandinavia to Newark.
With the launch of direct flights to JFK in New York from Copenhagen, SAS will be able to offer its customers frequent departures to this convenient and efficient airport with easy access to and from New York as well as many connecting flights to choose from.
Initially, the JFK route will have five departures per week from Copenhagen, and will then increase to daily departures for the summer schedule. SAS will fly to Terminal 7 at JFK.
”We are very excited about the launch of our new route to JFK. SAS offers a solid product to Newark Airport from Scandinavia and by adding JFK from Copenhagen we will strengthen the New York offering to our customers. The US is a strategic market for SAS, and we will continue to open new routes and destinations whenever the right opportunity arises,” says Erik Westman, EVP & CCO, Network and Revenue Management.
Destinations in the US continue to create demand for more and more frequent departures. SAS will offer approximately 130 departures per week on a total of 12 routes this winter.
