The private Greek shipping company Aegean Speed Lines is reportedly very close to buying Viking Line's faithful servant M/S Rosella, the newspaper reports. Åland Shipping.
The information comes from the Greek news site arxipelagos.gr, but Viking Line has not commented on the news. M/S Rosella operates the Kapellskär–Mariehamn route and was built in 1980 at Wärtsilä's Åbovarv shipyard.
If the deal is completed, the vessel will be delivered in January 2023.
In August, it became clear that Viking Line had reached an agreement with the French-Italian shipping company Corsica Ferries SAS to sell its faithful servant M/S Amorella. The ship has operated the Stockholm-Turku route via Åland for more than three decades, but since April 1st it has been operating the Stockholm-Mariehamn-Helsinki route.
Viking Line is listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange, which was closed on Tuesday for the celebration of Finland's Independence Day.
