On Thursday, the New York Fire Department was alerted that a fire had broken out aboard one of the ferries that runs between Manhattan and Staten Island, writes TT.
Around 900 passengers were evacuated due to the fire that reportedly broke out in the ferry's engine room at 5 pm local time. Five people were reportedly injured in the fire, three of whom were taken to hospital for treatment.
