Shipping company Tallink, which serves several Swedish cities, reports increased sales and operating profit in the fourth quarter compared to the same period the previous year. Operating profit increased. For the full year, it was profitable for the first time since 2019.
Sales rose 22.3 percent to EUR 203.7 million, while EBITDA doubled to EUR 50.4 million. EBITDA margin improved from 15.1 to 24.7 percent.
For the full year of 2022, Tallink returned to profit for the first time since 2019. The net profit was EUR 13.9 million, compared to a net loss of EUR 56.6 million in 2021.
”The charter agreements for our vessels, the daily work to restore operations on our normal routes, the significant effort to complete the construction of our newest vessel My Star and the start of operations with her on the Tallinn-Helsinki route were our clear focus of operations in 2022, and will continue in 2023,” comments CEO Paavo Nõgene.
The board of directors, like last year, proposes no dividend.
Tallink is primarily listed in Tallinn, but its shares are also traded in Helsinki. The largest owner of the company is the Estonian investment company Infortar.
