Norwegian fjords, northern lights and magnificent sunsets over the North Sea will cost you.

Now, a government investigation in Norway is proposing that foreign tourists who visit the country should help to maintain Norwegian natural values through a new tourist tax.

The tax will be collected through various companies that transport tourists to and from Norway. The funds will be used both locally and regionally, but controlled locally, to preserve Norwegian nature and culture.
