The era of rental scooters will soon come to an end in Paris.

The city has now decided that the contracts with companies that rent out electric scooters will expire on September 1. The city's mayor, Anne Hidalgo, wrote this on Twitter.

The decision was made after a referendum in the city, where 89 percent voted in favor of a ban on renting out the vehicles.
