The strike is over – three out of four commuter trains will run again

After three days of wildcat strikes among train drivers in Stockholm, the protest action was called off as planned at midnight, Thursday night.

After several difficult days, commuter train service will be regular on Thursday – but limited, writes Storstockholms lokaltrafik (SL) on its website. In addition, replacement buses will continue to run between certain commuter train and metro junctions.

The employer MTR tells Sveriges Radio Ekot that they aim to have around 75 percent of traffic running on Thursday.

The background to the wildcat strike – an illegal strike organized by individual employees – is the elimination of train conductors, which means solo work for the drivers.
