Airport employees in Berlin and Hamburg have gone on strike on Monday.

All departures from Berlin's largest airport, Brandenburg, have therefore been cancelled. In Hamburg, 31 out of 160 departures have been cancelled.

In Berlin, 70 out of a total of 240 arriving flights have also been cancelled.

The strike started at 3:30 a.m. Monday morning and is expected to last until midnight.

The union is demanding, among other things, better compensation for inconvenient working hours and overtime.

Similar strikes have taken place at several German airports in the first months of the year. Last week, traffic was halted for a day at Düsseldorf, Stuttgart and Hamburg airports, among others.
