The highest temperature in 40 years has been recorded in Singapore. The thermometer climbed to 37 degrees on Saturday.
”"The current hot and dry conditions are expected to continue tomorrow," the authorities wrote on Facebook. However, temperatures are expected to drop next week.
May is normally one of the hottest months of the year in Singapore, and a heatwave is currently sweeping across parts of South and Southeast Asia. Vietnam recorded temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius last week.
