A state of emergency has been declared throughout Rhodes, Greek local media reports.
The decision must have been taken by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection CNN Greece.
However, the whole thing is played down by Konstantinos Taraslias, press spokesman for the mayor of Rhodes.
