The population of Åre village is being asked to stay indoors after the Susabäcken stream overflowed overnight into Tuesday. Large amounts of water are rushing through the village, writes TT.

– The Susabäcken stream has overflowed its banks and dragged gravel and soil and large amounts of rapids through the village, says Henrik Jönsson, commander of the Mitt Norrland rescue region, to the news agency.

During the night, a VMA went out to the public in Åre municipality.

All roads and the E14 through Åre are completely closed.
