Lifting the last Covid restrictions

Remove

New Zealand has lifted the last Covid restrictions, reports the New Zealand Herald.

Health Minister Ayesha Verrall said on Tuesday that seven-day quarantine for Covid-19 infected people is no longer mandatory. However, infected people are still advised to isolate themselves for five days – but it is not a criminal offence not to do so.

New Zealand had some of the strictest rules during the pandemic, with closed borders, mandatory face masks and mandatory quarantine. (TT)
