SJ will continue to operate night trains on the entire route to Berlin even after October 1. Interest from both private and corporate travelers has been greater than expected. Tickets will be released at the end of this week.

– It's great to be able to make this announcement today, says Christer Litzell, Business Manager at SJ.

Until last week, the plan was for the trains to continue from Hamburg to Berlin until the end of September this year and then have Hamburg as the final destination for the rest of the autumn and winter.

– This is really good news, passengers have shown great interest from the start in traveling to Berlin with Euronight. Thanks to a new agreement with our German partner, we can also continue to run daily traffic the entire route to Berlin, says Christer Litzell, Business Manager at SJ.

Interest in the line is not only great from private travelers but also from companies that choose the train for business trips to events and conferences on the continent.

– We have also seen a greater number of travelers than we expected from German travelers taking the train to Sweden. In Germany, the line has received a lot of attention, says Christer Litzell.

The change also means that travelers with Hamburg as their final destination will still arrive at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof before the train continues to Berlin; there will be no change to Hamburg Altona, which is less centrally located. 

Tickets for the entire Stockholm-Berlin route will go on sale gradually during the week, tickets to Hamburg are already available for purchase. 

Timetable and prices will remain unchanged until the end of the year. Tickets are currently on sale until December 9th, and for Christmas and winter tickets will be released later in the autumn.
