The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is tightening its advice against travel to Lebanon due to developments in the Middle East.
The advice now applies to all travel to Lebanon. Previously, the advice applied to all non-essential travel. The new assessment, which was made on Wednesday, is in effect until further notice.
Reason for the change is the "worsening security situation" in the region, i.e. the war between Israel and Palestinian Hamas and the risk of the fighting spreading.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has three levels of advice: Non-essential travel, all travel and a call to leave the country.
