The Eiffel Tower is usually open every day, but since Monday, visitors have had to turn back. The staff are striking again, following a one-day strike in December, dissatisfied with how the finances and maintenance of the iconic tower are being managed.

It may remain closed due to strike on Wednesday as well. Negotiations between the unions, the city of Paris and the operating company are at a standstill.

The tower has around seven million visitors per year, three-quarters of whom are foreign tourists.
