Scandic is opening its first hotel in Nuremberg, Bavaria's second largest metropolitan area. The opening is an important step in the company's expansion in Germany. The newly renovated hotel with its 311 rooms and meeting spaces for up to 800 people has been profiled as a Scandic hotel since the takeover from Pandox. The hotel will be operated by Scandic with a long-term turnover-based lease from March 1, 2024. 

Scandic Nürnberg Central is centrally located, just a few minutes' walk from the main train station and the historic city center. Leisure and business travelers can look forward to 311 rooms and suites, an indoor pool, saunas, flexible meeting and event spaces, and a culinary food and beverage offering with a focus on sustainable, regional and seasonal ingredients. The hotel's restaurant, Public Kitchen & Bar, stands out for its creative cuisine, but also a wide range of climate-smart dishes. For the active, there are gym and yoga facilities with a 180-degree panoramic view of Nuremberg on the top floor.

With its strategic location and only 20 minutes by car from the airport, Scandic Nürnberg Central is an ideal venue for events and conferences of all kinds. The hotel offers meeting rooms that are particularly suitable for smaller workshops and seminars. For larger events, guests are welcomed into the magnificent ballroom that can accommodate up to 800 people. Through a flexible design, the walls can be easily moved to accommodate different types of events, for example, cars can be rolled into the meeting space for launches and exhibitions.

The hotel will be led by experienced hotel director Heiko Kain, who was also responsible for the successful opening and establishment of Scandic Frankfurt Hafenpark.

Pandox has recently completed a major renovation of the hotel, which will reopen in 2023. During the renovation, technical, sustainability-related investments and upgrades to the property have been made. Just like at all Scandic hotels, sustainability is a central part of Scandic Nürnberg Central. The hotel will be Nordic Ecolabelled according to Nordic Ecolabel's new, tough criteria, which include ecolabelled products and chemicals, the absence of single-use packaging, reduced water use, a more climate-friendly food offering and a focus on reduced food waste.

After the opening, the company operates seven hotels in Germany, spread over 2,461 rooms.
