Easter is just around the corner. According to the weather forecast, there's both sunshine and high temperatures hidden in the Easter egg.
– It will definitely be the warmest day of the year so far, says meteorologist Johan Groth.
Southern winds are blowing into Sweden just in time for the Easter weekend. On Good Friday, there will be quite a lot of rain, but afterwards the cloud cover will break up over large parts of the country.
Easter Eve will offer clear weather from the south all the way up to southern Norrland. In the south, the mercury in the thermometer could reach up to 15 degrees and in the north up to 8 degrees, according to Johan Groth, a meteorologist at StormGeo.
– It's between four and eight degrees Celsius, up to the level of Sundsvall, he says.
It's warmest here
The warm weather is set to continue even on Easter Sunday, not least in the south where temperatures could even rise above 20 degrees in some places.
"It will definitely be the warmest day of the year so far, but that's not so strange considering we've only had winter so far," says Johan Groth.
But the contrasts are great. In northern Norrland, it is the cold that dominates during the weekend. The cold air then moves southwards across the country towards Easter Monday.
"Significantly cooler air is expected to move across the entire country next week, so it's important to take advantage of this spring warmth," says Groth.
